An Afternoon of Inspiration, Wednesday, August 21, 2019

The Retirees Association and OLLI are partnering to sponsor a bus trip to Pittsburgh to visit the University of Pittsburgh Nationality Rooms and the Carnegie Science Center to see Da Vinci, the Exhibition. We think this will be a popular trip so get your reservations in early. 

Located in the University of Pittsburgh’s Cathedral of Learning, the Nationality Rooms were designed to represent the culture of various ethnic groups that settled in Allegheny County. Representing 30 countries and cultures, the rooms are still used as University classrooms today. We will have a guided tour of the rooms.

Then we’ll travel to the Carnegie Science Center to see a limited engagement exhibition featuring more than 60 fully built life-size inventions and 20 recreations of paintings and anatomy sketches, including a true-to-scale reproduction of The Last Supper, by Leonardo da Vinci, the original Renaissance man.

Pack a lunch to eat along the Ohio River on the Three Rivers Heritage Trail or visit the RiverView Café at the Science Center.

The cost of this trip is $50.  The reservations deadline is August 5, 2019.  Payment is due at the time of reservation.  No refunds after August 5. 

We will depart Morgantown from the Mountaineer Mall at 9:00 a.m.  We expect to be back in Morgantown around 7:00 p.m.

• Or send a check, made out to the WVU Foundation, to OLLI at WVU, PO Box 9123, Morgantown WV 26506-9123.  Your check must reach OLLI before the August 5 deadline.
