Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, Sunday June 17, 2018
The trip to see
Ax plays Beethoven has been cancelled.
The reservations deadline for this trip is March 31, 2018.
Members of the Retirees Association will travel by chartered bus to Heinz Hall in
Pittsburgh to see Ax plays Beethoven's "Emperor" on June 17, 2018. The Pittsburgh
Symphony website calls this the quintessential concerto for the piano. They
say the "Emperor" has it all - a striking opening, hymn-like adagio, and a glorious
finish.
We will leave Morgantown from the Mountaineer Mall at 11:00 a.m. and arrive in Pittsburgh
around 12:30 p.m. There are several restaurants near Heinz Hall where you can have
lunch on your own.
There is a pre-symphony talk that begins at 1:30 p.m. The symphony starts at
2:30 p.m. We should leave Pittsburgh around 5:00 p.m. and be back in Morgantown
around 6:30 p.m.
For this trip you will have a choice between two packages, both offer retirees a
substantial educational discount:
- For front Orchestra seating and transportation, the cost is $60 per seat.
- For front Balcony seating and transportation, the cost is $55 per seat.
Refund Policy: Reservations for this trip are due by May 31, 2018.
On that day we will make our commitment to the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra
and Budget Charters. As a result, we will not be able to make any refunds
after May 31.
To join us on the trip, you will need to reserve your seat(s) on the bus and then
make your payment. It is a two-step process.
