Christmas in the Laurel Highlands

Ligonier PA
Christmas in the Laurel Highlands, Thursday, December 4, 2025

Reservations for this trip are due by November 25, 2025.

Retirees are traveling by chartered bus to the Laurel Highlands to visit the Old General Store in Donegal, Ligonier village, the Lincoln Highway Museum, and Overly's Country Christmas.

We start at the Old General Store in Donegal PA.  They specialize in nostalgic, old-time products in a unique general store setting of yesteryear.  Look for Americana and locally made products that include nostalgic candy, old time remedies, kitchen gadgets, gourmet items, jewelry, and rustic decor and furniture.

Next is the village of Ligonier, recognized by Country Living Magazine as one of "The Most Charming Small Towns in America" and by The Washington Post as a "Small-Town Charmer." Steeped in history dating back to the French and Indian War, we’ll visit the quaint town for a little shopping and eating (lunch is on your own; save room for dessert) while enjoying the country Christmas decor and the town square.

The Lincoln Highway Museum is our next stop for an interactive self guided tour of the Lincoln Highway Experience, the first coast-to-coast highway.  Pie and coffee at a functioning 1930’s diner is included.

Our last stop is Overly's Country Christmas in Greensburg.  An old fashioned walk around Christmas village with all the lights and sounds of Christmas including horse-drawn wagon/sleigh rides (small fee), a bonfire, hot chocolate, fun food and shops.

The cost of this trip is $62.00 per person which includes transportation, and entry fees to the Lincoln Highway Experience and Overly's Country Christmas.  Lunch is on your own in Ligonier.  We will leave Morgantown at 10:00 a.m. from the Mountaineer Mall.  We will depart Overly's at 7:00 pm. and arrive back in Morgantown around 8:30 p.m.
