The West Virginia University Retirees Association presents Sunny Portugal, a Collette tour beginning on May 1 through May 10, 2025.
Members of the Association will travel for 10 days and 9 nights to visit ancient castles, Roman ruins, and whitewashed villages in Sunny Portugal.
The tour begins in Lisbon where you'll visit the Belem Tower and the Jeronimos Monastery, both UNESCO sites. Then to Evora to explore the medieval walled city and the Roman temple. Next is Lagos where Moorish and Renaissance influences meet towering seaside cliffs. You'll visit the Portuguese Riviera and see the mansions that hint at this area’s history as a haven for exiled European royals and nobility. Continue to Sintra, another UNESCO site, that was the summer residence of Portuguese kings for six centuries
And that’s just a few of the highlights. There’s lots more to see in between and several options along the way. There is also an optional post-tour extension. The trip begins in Morgantown with your limo ride to the airport. We have seats on hold for the Retirees Association and Collette is taking reservations now. Included in the cost is round trip air fare.
