Retirees Association

Art Museum Opening

Lunch and Dedication of the Art Museum, August 25, 2015

Art Museum Lunch Before the Dedication
Members of the Retirees Association met for a casual lunch at Panera’s before the dedication. There was a room reserved for them where they could relax, have lunch, and enjoy the company.

Dedication of the Art Museum
Those who attended the dedication were able to view two exhibition galleries totaling 5,400 square feet. The collection has strong Appalachian roots with works by West Virginians such as woodblock artist Blanche Lazzell and Grace Martin Taylor. The collection also houses works by names almost everyone is familiar with, including Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol and Ansel Adams. President Gee, Provost McConnell, Dean Kreider from the College of Creative Arts, and other officials were in attendance.
