Evansdale Crossing and FABRICation

We started out with a short tour of Evansdale Crossing, the new student hub near the Enginering PRT station. It was designed to unite the upper and lower parts of the Evansdale Campus by providing elevators and stairs to a connecting bridge to the new walking campus. Our tour gave us an idea of what’s in the building, how it ties the campus together, and what’s available for lunch.

Evansdale CrossingWe then enjoyed lunch at the Crossing Marketplace.  There are restaurants on the first and fifth floors of Evansdale Crossing. Retirees could get lunch from any vendor and join us on the fifth floor. We had tables reserved in the rooftop lounge where we could enjoy both lunch and the view.

Textile PieceAfter lunch we walked to the Art Museum to enjoy the FABRICation exhibition. FABRICation featured the work of seven contemporary women artists who use fabric and fabrication to contrast our culture’s media consumption with the slow work done by hand. We could also visit the other galleries in the museum.

We then toured the Nath Sculpture Garden. The garden is named for Joginder Nath whose donation created the garden.  The garden emphasizes nature and art and is     Art Museummeant to be an inspirational setting for the community and visitors. We think the garden is especially beautiful and we recommend that you take the time to walk through it.
