Seminar Series in Financial Literacy
The Center for Financial Literacy and Education in the College of Business and Economics
in conjunction with the West Virginia University Retirees Association presented a
Seminar Series in Financial Literacy to empower WVU retirees to make sound financial
decisions.
The seminar series was designed to offer retirees valuable information regarding
their own personal finances through an interactive learning environment that armed participants with the ability to plan for their futures and fully understand
the scope of their financial decisions.
The series consisted of five modules specifically designed with the retiree in mind
that offered insight from professionals working in the Morgantown area who answered
questions about financial decision making in retirement.
The five-module series was offered beginning on January 25 and continued in two
week intervals through March 22. Naomi Boyd, Chair of the Department of Finance
and Director of the Center for Financial Literacy and Education, started the first
