Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob TourRetirees traveled by chartered bus to Kentuck Knob and Fallingwater, two homes in the Pennsylvania Laurel Highlands designed
by Frank Lloyd Wright. Both homes are National Historic Landmarks. We were also leaf-peepers and enjoyed the fall foliage along the ride.
Both homes were stunning. Our first stopwas Kentuck Knob, one of the last homes
completed by Wright. The house offers a “breathtaking panorama of the
Youghiogheny River Gorge.” Next we toured Fallingwater.
Fallingwater has been called one of the greatest architectural triumphs of the
20th century and is perhaps the best-known house that Frank Lloyd Wright ever
designed.
After the Fallingwater tour, we'll stopped at Ohiopyle to enjoy the scenery
and a boxed lunch from Panera Bread. We also took some time to see the Visitors Center and the falls. That's our group of travelers in the photo above with the Ohiopyle falls in the background.
