The April book was The Lost Family: How DNA Testing Is Upending Who We Are by Libby Copeland. The book summary says: You swab your cheek or spit into a vial, then send it away to a lab somewhere. Death in Mud Lick: A Coal Country Fight against the Drug Companies That Delivered the Opioid Epidemic by Eric Eyre. The
New York Times called this a book about how painkiller pushers took over coal country. People drove hundreds of miles to get to the Sav-Rite in Kermit WV. Lines were so long that the pharmacy’s owner sold popcorn and hot dogs to people in the drive-through lane.
